Organizing Professional News (OPN) is an independent publication for the organizing and productivity industry, founded by Stephanie Y. Deininger. Our mission is to curate the most relevant and thought-provoking news, research, and ideas to help you, the organizing professional, improve your work and find inspiration.
As an organizing professional myself, I saw a need for an industry resource that went beyond business coaching to explore the deeper layers of our work. At OPN, we focus on translating research from psychology, behavioral science, and adjacent fields into actionable insights you can apply to your organizing style and client engagements.
Each week, we publish compelling industry developments with a “quick take” to guide your interpretation and spark discussion. Our goal is to expand your thinking as an organizing professional while respecting your time and attention. Expect a concise, thoughtful curation and never information overload.
Whether you’re a professional organizer, productivity coach, decluttering specialist, hoarding interventionist, or adjacent professional, OPN aims to be a valuable resource in your toolbox. We hope our perspective inspires you to approach your work in new ways.
About the Founder
I’m Stephanie Y. Deininger, the founder and editor of OPN and of The Organized Flamingo. I’ve been working as a professional organizer and productivity consultant for over two decades, helping individuals and businesses organize and declutter their lives and spaces. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a major in Communication and Marketing and a Master’s in Business from Johnson and Wales University. I am also a Certified Professional Organizer with NAPO, the National Association of Organizing and Productivity Professionals.
I created OPN to have deeper dialogues about these hidden drivers of our work as organizing professionals. By curating research and ideas that illuminate the complexities of clutter, hoarding, and productivity, I hope to enrich our collective understanding as a community.
When I’m not organizing, you’ll find me exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with my family. Feel free to email me at [email protected] with any thoughts or suggestions for OPN.
Happy organizing!
Kindly, Stephanie
