If you’ve ever helped someone find their kitchen again, talked a client through letting go of a box they’ve been holding onto for a decade, or spent a Saturday hauling junk so someone else could breathe a little easier, then this newsletter is for you.
OPN (Organizing Professional News) is an independent publication covering the organizing and productivity profession. Industry news, trends, research, tools, and the occasional hot take. Delivered right to your inbox.

Why this, why now
The organizing profession has grown enormously. Professional organizers, productivity coaches, decluttering specialists, junk removal pros, hoarding intervention specialists, interior designers who think spatially, we’re all doing adjacent work, often in silos.
We want to create a central place where this industry talks to itself — where the whole ecosystem comes together. From NAPO conferences to organizing coaching retreats to ICD, from the latest research on decision fatigue to what’s actually happening in the junk hauling market. OPN is my attempt to build that.
What kind of community are we building here
An honest one. One where we can talk about the hard stuff. Difficult clients, emotional labor, pricing, burnout, what it’s like to walk into a hoarding situation for the first time. And also the fun stuff like new tools, certifications, business wins, and the satisfaction of a truly transformed space.
Whether you’re a solo organizer just starting out, a seasoned pro with a full roster, or someone adjacent to this world (hello 👋 estate sale folks, therapists who work with hoarders, real estate agents who call us before listings), there’s a seat at this table.
What to expect
Here’s what OPN will look like going forward:
- Weekly issues delivered by email, covering news and trends in the organizing/productivity world or news associated with it
- Industry spotlights — profiles of people doing interesting work in the profession
- Research & resources — useful studies, tools, and business tips
- Community Q&A — got a question about your business, a tricky client situation, or a tool you’re curious about? Ask and I’ll tackle it in a future issue
Free subscribers get the full weekly newsletter. Down the road, paid subscribers will get access to deeper dives, an archive, and community perks, but we’re keeping it simple for now.
Let’s get started
I’m glad you’re here. Forward this to a colleague, share it with your organizing Facebook group, or just sit with it over coffee between client appointments.
And if there’s something you want covered like news in the industry, a question you keep seeing come up, a topic nobody’s talking about just hit reply. I read every one.
Here’s to organized spaces and the people who create them.
